Dragon Year Day1

Had already prepared my outfits for Chinese New Year since last November - I am kiasu (Singapore slang for "afraid to lose") like that - but I ended up changing my outfits at the last minute (yes, I'm fickle like that too). Bought the belt at a local online boutique (forgot the name!). I highly suspect that it will be worn to death.

With my maternal granny and Andy's paternal grandma. Love that they're both so tiny! Shows how much we've grown.

Shades of red and orange from my skirt, the oranges, the paper bag and my umbrella (+ a pop of purple) for a prosperous year ahead!
Ps: Bali tomorrow with the big sister. The sun... the sand... the sea... EXCITED.
Year of the Dragon
Here's wishing all Camerafilmroll readers a Happy Chinese New Year. 恭喜發財!

Ending with a random outfit photo, and my new shoes (including my sisters') and nails (a rather badly attempted one but still loving it) for CNY! Here's to another blessed year ahead. (:

A night to eternity
Attended Kelly and YC's wedding last Friday at Crowne Plaza. It was a small but heartwarming occasion. To always hearing Kelly complaining about their little bickers and what-nots in the office till what this couple has come to today... you know when it's true love.

With XM, fellow colleagues in two companies!

Boss A!

With Boss B and a glowing bride!

Love this shot of the bride peeking into the ballroom before the first march-in.

The second march-in. This shot is much more "Kelly". Hehehe.

The video was so well done! Kudos to the videographer who managed to shoot, merge, edit, soundfix etc. to the video in a matter of less than a day!

The wedding favours were fantastic - you get a coaster or a tea stainer! LOVE the cheeky colour design, you seldom see this on wedding favours.

Congratulations to the newly-weds once again! Here's to happily ever after. (:

high on energy maintenance
Final school term is starting next week. And after I'm done with this shit, I'll be out into the working society in full force. Feeling a bit nervous about it but this feeling has got to wait. I've got a bigger issue at hand - FINAL MAJOR PROJECT. So. Not. Prepared.
Anyhow... my new year's eve was a quiet but cozy home affair spent with the p.gfs (-1 because lucky girl has her boy home till after new year's). Constant chit-chat session over mini potluck, chick flick, dessert wine and salted caramel ice cream, followed by an intense game of monodeal and Bluff (which we spent half an hour playing and didn't even manage to complete the first round!). Counted down to the new year over FaceTime with the boys over in Perth. Thank God for technology (sometimes).

Checked out the new shopping mall at Expo. Going back there for some Adidas/Nike outlet shopping soon!

Ending off with... say hi to my cuddlies (all from Andy) and my new favorite purple coffee mug from a girlfriend! Never been a plushie person till Andy gave me the little Eeyore as my first Valentine's gift 6 years ago. Now they all share my bed. (:

last of yesteryear
The first half of 2011 was bull but the second half... despite Andy being away, life had treated me well. I fell in love with grocery shopping (over and over, actually) and started to cook more at home because I was getting sick of packed food and fast food (surprise surprise!).

Enjoyed a complimentary stay thanks to my mum at Marina Bay Sands and lounged at the highly raved infinity pool, which felt just like any other public pool with tons of people. But of course, the view from the top is incomparable. The best part of the stay was when my girlfriend spotted a rainbow from our room and it turned out to be a double rainbow instead. Even better! We spent a good 5 minutes just ogling at its magnificence till it faded away.

To the Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition at the ArtScience Museum with some girlfriends. Over 275 artifacts! Definitely an unforgettable experience.

Comfort wear was the attire for the last quarter of the year. Wore this to a sale and scored me some Christmas treats!

The boy came home for Christmas and we were inseparable for those ten days. Best Christmas present ever! Also the best Christmas I've ever had so far. (:

So here I am, embracing the coming days of the new year in my new glasses. WADDUP 2012.

I've been bad but I've been good.
I apologize for being such a terrible blogger. I've been really busy filling my life's schedule with so much goodness and happiness I hope you dearies understand. How was your holiday? (: Mine was a blast. And I promise that I'll update about it soon! For now, here's a little something from yesternight.

Caught Wicked with the p.girls and it was SPECTACULAR. The entire stage was so brilliantly done up and everything felt so magical. Now I only wished that I had gotten the more expensive seating right at the front of the stage. My eyesight is failing me terribly.

Late night drinks at Bazin after. Al fresco seating and facing the beautiful night lights! You'll be seeing more of me in glasses from now on. A scar on my cornea means I'm not allowed to wear contacts anymore (or at least not as often, I hope).

Thought I'll share some photographs from a shoot I did for a classmate's project. Everything was taken in her room and she has the the cutest props!

Have you said your thank-yous today?
Did you know that last Sunday was World Kindness Day? If you were in town last weekend you would have seen an expected number of 500 (KIND) volunteers in sky blue shirts giving out 30,000 yellow gerbera daisies. Well, in conjunction with World Kindness Day, Singapore had our very own Singapore Kindness Movement event and I was very proud to be involved in this event together with 3 other bloggers – Velda, Sofia and Leonny!

That’s Leonny’s son, Levi. Isn’t he a cutie? She brought her three children along and these little ones were so excited when they received their SKM shirts!

Clad in Topshop floral shorts to match my very own SKM shirt!
Attended the media conference at Orchard Exchange first, where we were told more about the Singapore Kindness Movement and introduced to makesomeonesday.sg, a SKM website where Singaporeans are encouraged to share their ‘thank you’ messages and to join the Kindness Ambush video contest. You need to check the site out, really cute and interactive! Plus reading all those feel-good thank you messages? Cheap thrill at its best. More about the Kindness Ambush video later!

Just look at those yellow gerberas! Such a happy-colored flower, very fitting as the official flower of the movement.

With SKM Mascot, Singa, along Orchard Road at the main event ground!

Velda snapping a picture of this pair of twin cuties!

One of the kind volunteers and kind Lydia from Nuffnang!

Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts (MICA) and adviser to SKM arrived and flag-off begins!

Sofia, Velda and I – ready to spread some love and kindness!

With Daniel Ong, kind host of the day.

Say thanks, make someone’s day!
I had a fun time ambushing people and giving out the gerberas. Though it’s pretty hilarious how some people think that we’re out to get donations! Singaporeans…. Hahaha.
And here’s how to join the Kindness Ambush video contest:

Upload your Kindness Ambush here to win one year of unlimited Singapore Cable Car rides from The Jewel Box at Mount Faber. 5 lucky ambushers will win a pair of Singapore Cable Car tickets plus a Jewel Card membership for a year of unlimited cable car rides, Sentosa admission and other privileges worth $91. 5 ambushed will also be rewarded with a pair of Singapore Cable Car tickets worth $52!
For me, the kindest thing anyone has done for me was during the car accident that happened to me early this year. If it weren’t for this uncle (a friend of my mum’s actually), I wouldn’t have known how to handle the situation in the best possible way. THANK YOU UNCLE A! I’m sure everyone has someone to thank for being kind to him or her. Have you said your thank-yous today? (:

With the Nuffnang girls. THANK YOU and SKM for having us at the event!

my life in instagram

Photoshoot at a classmate's place for her studio project. We all agreed that her room's filled with "instagrammable" opportunities. Hahaha.

Blackberry-turned-iPhone phone holder from the mp girls. Loving it to bits!

Photoshoot for another classmate. My fave outfit of the day. She made that skirt!

Topshop shoes for birthday gift from sis.

Waiting with mum to get my 4S.

In christmas-y mood!

New room candies for my arm candies.

FAKE shopping with Sharon's alter-ego Norah S. for her studio project!

REAL tea at TWG after, hahaha.

Attended the Singapore Kindness Movement with bloggers Velda, Sofia and Leonny. More about it in the next post!

Working with an interior design friend for my studio project.

Christmas tree proudly done up by my little sis and I!

Photoshopped browless me for my studio project. Everyone said I look too scary.

A shot from an outdoor shoot with mp last month.

Countdown 27 more days!!!!!

Impromptu shoe shopping!

These are probably the reason why I need to start working out proper.

Can't wait for term break to start after Tuesday's submission. Till then!
22nd Becks' Day Week
So I turned 22 yesterday! Had a whole week of birthday celebrations with my various groups of friends from all around, some planned and some unplanned (which came as happy surprises). Though Andy wasn't around this time, this entire week has been filled with so much love that I deem this year's birthday a pretty awesome one! Here's to the next one. (:
Ps: Pictures below prove that I'm hooked on the camera editing apps in iPhones. I am a iPhone-Blackberry-back to iPhone convert!

Dinner with the pilot's gfs. It's amazing how we've became a tightly knitted group of girlfriends in a matter of five months. (:

My best mates from Lasalle. <3

Girlfriends for a decade!

Caught In Time with Val and after parting, I exclaimed to her in Whatsapp that we didn't take a picture together. So I ended up with this image of her through Facetime. Thank God for video conferencing, heheh!

Modeled for a classmate's project on Thursday and they surprised me with a cake after! It was funny because the initial cake they wanted to surprise me with was eaten by S' dog while they were preping outside the room I was in. Very sweet of them nonetheless! (:

This was another funny surprise from the mp girls. Kel demanded that I change behind the backdrop (which is weird because I always change anywhere in the office during photoshoots, haha) and I refused. Then she secretive gestured to Sharon but apparently her gestures are incomprehensible and Sharon was like "WHAT you still want to eat?!" Hahahahahaha. But they still managed to surprise me after all. (: Having had organized surprises for me for the last two years, I think they'll have a hard time thinking of more surprises in the years to come! Hahaha. Loving the metallic gold Kate Spade phone pouch they got for me!

Starbucks christmas coffee lovin'!

Chanel Fire thanks to D. <3

DIY birthday card from my sisters!

Showing off my birthday card one too many times.

Nail polish shopping on my birthday.
But of course, amidst all these love, I wish that this joker boy was here.

Hope you guys had an equally fabulous week! xoxos.

Well I've been extremely busy with my final year projects that I can hardly breathe. Been trying my hardest to take it easy while running on a super tight dateline. Just one more month before I'm done with this semester, and another month before I get to see the love of my life when he comes back for his one-week break! I'll get through this somehow. (:

My lousy perming experience at the salon. Hair straightened straight after first wash. ): I had to perm it a second time. I think my hair refuses to curl up at will.
